The 2019–20 season is Cove Rangers first competitive season in the fourth tier of Scottish football after being promoted through the League Two play-offs[1] and winning the Highland League. Cove Rangers will also compete in the League Cup, the Scottish Challenge Cup and the Scottish Cup.
Season Summary
editPaul Hartley was named as manager in the close 2019 season after John Sheran advised Cove Rangers that he could not continue as their manager. The club moved Sheran to a director of football role, with Hartley succeeding him as manager.[2] Cove Rangers League debut against Edinburgh City ended in a 5–0 win.[3] Cove Rangers played Connah's Quay Nomads in Wales on channel S4C. This was the first match ever televised for Cove Rangers[4] where unfortunately they lost 1–0.[5]
