Jared Tendler is an American performance coach from Connecticut. He is best known for working with professional poker players to improve their mental game.
Qualifications
editDegree from Skidmore College, BA Double Major Business and Psychology, 2001. Masters Degree from Northeastern University, Master of Science in Counselling Psychology, 2003. Licensed Mental Health Counselor, State of Massachusetts, 2005 to present.
Golf
editTendler was an aspiring professional golfer before working in the psychology industry. He was a three time All-American for the Skidmore College golf team (1998-2000), a Scholar All American (2000), a 2 year captain, won 9 collegiate events and in September 2010 is to be inducted into the Skidmore College Hall of Fame.
He started working with golfers as a performance coach in 2005 and worked with an LPGA tour winner, as well as many players on the PGA tour and many top ranked juniors. His career low is 63 at Moon Valley CC in Phoenix.
Poker
editTendler was introduced to the world of poker after a chance meeting with high stakes online player Dusty Leatherass Schmidt [1] on the golf course. After 5 months working with Schmidt (Who had 4 of his biggest winning months ever immediately after working with Tendler) he joined poker training site Stoxpoker as an instructor on poker mental game theory.
Since then he has produced 20 instructional videos and worked with over 140 professional poker players from 20 different countries. He is now a lead instructor at DragtheBar.com [2]
Poker Mental Game Book
editIn 2011 Tendler is set to release his first book entitled The Mental Game of Poker
