As you may surmise from my username, I am fascinated by Chinatowns. At present, I'm figuring out the best way to restructure and reformat the various Chinatown articles and add even more in-depth history whenever possible by answering who, what, when, where, why (most of the current articles, like much of Wikipedia, tend to be superficial at best). It's a thankless job, but then somebody has to do it.
I've become somewhat disenchanted and discouraged by the lack of true civility and appreciation on Wikipedia over time, so I have decided to give Wikipedia a pass (even though I had a lot of offline Chinatown material researched and prepared to go on the site). Is Wikipedia a collaboration towards better human understanding or really just an exercise and struggle of arbitrary and capricious power and control, especially for people who lack it in the real world?
Of course, there are better activities I wish to do in my spare time. I do hope you enjoy some of the fine pictures I have found or taken myself and added over the past year or so.
Signing off for good,
