Sara Faridi is an Iranian mathematician and professor at Dalhousie University.[1] She works in commutative and combinatorial algebra.[2]

Faridi was awarded a Ph.D. at the University of Michigan in 2000.[1] Her thesis was entitled Closure operations on ideals.[3] Her supervisor was Karen E. Smith.[4]

After graduating, she worked at the University of Ottawa, the University of Quebec at Montreal and George Washington University. She has also spent time as a visiting researcher at Technische Universität Darmstadt and MSRI.[5]
Faridi serves on the board of directors and executive committee of the Atlantic Association for Research in the Mathematical Sciences (AARMS) and as Vice President – Atlantic Provinces for the Canadian Mathematical Society.[6][7][8] She directed the 2013 AARMS summer school.[9] She was an organiser of events including "Connecting Women in Mathematics Across Canada"[10] and the "Symposium for South Asian Women in Mathematics".[11]
Faridi has been involved in training and fundraising to send a Canadian team to the European Girls' Math Olympiad.[12]
