Carbon360 is a wholly owned subsidiary of Opalesque Media Group.

Carbon360 was started as a research group by founder Brian Shapiro as part of CarbonBased Consulting in 1997. The group was responsible for conducting research studies and producing comparative reports on business critical systems for alternative asset managers.

The company is based in New York with editors, sales, and support staff located in New Jersey, Connecticut, Germany, and India.

In 2009 the group was bought by Opalesque[1]. Since then it has produced it's annual Fund Administration Fact Book[2] The report is the only comprehensive study done on the fund administration industry, an industry that has been rapidly growing in importance following repeated calls from regulators and investors alike for greater transparency from hedge funds.

Upon acquiring Carbon360 from CarbonBased Consulting, CEO Matthias Knab began expanding the group with the hiring of Daniel Golyanov[3], it's current Research Director, as well as Research Associate Zohaib Khan.
