Daniel Benfield is a male Human user on Wikipedia who signed up on September 25, 2008. For his first several years, he spent most of his time updating pages such as List of American game shows and other pages (usually related to game shows) lacking information, including his first edited page, About Faces.
In May 2011, he became a frequent editor on a Wikia site about Wheel of Fortune, being promoted to co-administrator that November. He also does various "Video Archives" on the Game Shows Wiki.
Daniel speaks English as his native tongue, and knows a slight bit of Spanish.
About Redundancies... edit
I hate redundancies, I'll say that up-front (indeed, Wikipedia's Manual of Style says to avoid redundancies where possible). If an article has a one-sentence intro and a section marked "personnel", that's redundant since the host/announcer information can easily be the intro.
Another personal dislike regards the usage of "first_aired" and "last_aired" in the Infobox – if a show aired its entire run in a single given calendar year, the Infobox should simply state "(start date) – (end date), (year)" instead of "(start date), (year) – (end date), (year)".
I've also seen many a use of numbers instead of "spelled-out" dates, i.e. "4-3-1978", mainly since it's ambiguous as it can mean April 3 and March 4 depending on your country of residence.
While redundancies may seem small, fixing them makes the article much easier to read (the matter with the Infobox causing the facts to flow smoothly), especially for "Non-Wikipedians" who don't have (or want) encyclopedic knowledge and just want the facts.
(And now I sound like a Wikipedia help article. Great. :P)
Notable Contributions edit
In my opinion, my most notable edits are those which massively overhauled the List of American game shows to its current format (here's what it looked like right before my first edit there) – namely, correctly alphabetizing the shows listed, adding new ones, and separating the long "Quiz and other shows" into sub-sections for easier reading.
Another set of notable (IMO) edits are those to List of surviving DuMont Television Network broadcasts, which was reworked to be less cluttered and add links from the Internet Archive and elsewhere.
There were several other lists, including a few on unreleased video games, which were looked over and fixed where possible.
Also noteworthy are the pages that have a link to the UCLA Film and Television Archive – I personally went through the archive's website, searching for listings to add said info on surviving episodes of various game shows (and links as proof) to their respective pages, should one exist. Many "stub" pages were helped by this.
Adding long-needed info to pages also held true to The Price Is Right, specifically referring to the nighttime runs and especially where pricing games were involved (...well, before most of the individual pages got deleted).
