The Redoak Brewery is a brewery in Western Sydney, New South Wales and is Australia's most awarded brewery.

History

Redoak Brewery was established in 2004 and is wholly Australian owned and operated by siblings David and Janet Hollyoak. They also opened the Redoak Boutique Beer Café in Sydney’s CBD, to showcase their beers.

  • Organic Pale Ale (4.6% alc/vol), a pale ale brewed using certified organically grown malt and hops, together with London Ale yeast.
  • Bitter (3.5% alc/vol), an English style bitter.
  • Cellar Beer (5.2% alc/vol), a cloudy (unfiltered) summer lager
  • All Day Breakfast (5.3% alc/vol), a golden brown wheat beer.
  • Oatmeal Stout (4.8% alc/vol).
  • American Pale Ale (4.8% alc/vol), brewed using American hops.
  • Winter in the Rye (6.7% alc/vol), a German style bock brewed with rye malt.
  • Schwarzbier (5.5% alc/vol),a German dark lager

Awards

In 2006 the brewery won the Grand Champion Trophy and Champion Speciality Beer for their Redoak Special Reserve at the Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA). That year they also won a Gold Medal at the Brewer's Association World Beer Cup for their Redoak Honey Ale.

At the 2007 European Beer Star Awards they won a Silver and Bronze Medal for their Redoak Raunch (a smoked beer) and Redoak Oatmeal Stout respectively. They also won Grand Champion Beer of Show at the 2007 Australian Hotel Beer Awards for their India Pale Ale.

In 2008 they won a Gold Medal at the World Beer Cup for their Redoak Framboise Froment and won Champion Small Brewery at the AIBA.

In 2011 the Bitter won the Gold Medal for 'South German-Style Hefeweizen/Hefeweissbier' at the World Beer Cup.[1]

The Organic Pale Ale won a Silver and Bronze Medal at the Australian International Beer Awards.

The Oatmeal Stout won a Gold and Silver Medal at Australian International Beer Awards.

The Winter in the Bock' won a Gold Medal at the 2013 European Beer Star.

In 2013 the brewery won Gold Medals at the European Beer Star Awards for its Redoak Schwarzbier in the Schwarzbier category and Redoak Winter in the Rye in the Bier with alternate cereals category. They also won Supreme Champion for the Redoak Special Reserve at the International Beer Challenge in the UK.

The Schwarzbier also won a Gold and Silver Medal at Australian International Beer Awards.
