Daniel Francis Dimitri was born in 1981 in Cardiff. He first started singing when he was 5 years old and continued to entertain family and friends. At the age of 13 he joined a choir at Rumney High School and another at the age of 14 outside of school that he toured the U.K. with. During his High School days he was the lead singer in a band called Krazy.

In 1998 Daniel did his first big Performance in front of 2000 people in Cardiff Castle at the welsh National Assembly.

When Daniel was 18 he moved to Plymouth and taught himself to play the keyboard and started to write solo material. 6 months later he became a Red Coat at Butlins in Minehead for the Christmas season and then decided to move to Reading.

While in Reading Daniel started to perform in local competitions and started winning. This pushed Daniel to become more of a performer and learned to play the Guitar by ear. Daniel worked with many other artists in Reading but continued to work as a solo artist and created his Stage Name Daniel James. Daniel Regularly played at The 3B's in Reading town hall.

in 2002 Daniel did some work with The Princes Trust and ended up Performing at the Golden Jubilee celebration in Berkshire.

Daniel James has now moved back to Cardiff to work on new ideas and is in a band called Diem, which has been ongoing since 2005.
