Patrick Cunningham has worked in the entertainment industry for over 10 years and founded the production company Mighty Reel, established to produce and co-finance independent films. His early film producing credits include, The Woman in the Moon, Never Met Picasso (Which won a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts). In the theater Patrick produced the critically acclaimed play Emmett Till, which was nominated for a National Theater Image Award. In addition, Cunningham worked with Directors Spike Lee and John Pierson. As a Casting Director, Cunningham has worked on over 40 films and television projects.

After his first job in casting on the film Boomerang, Cunningham moved to Los Angeles, to learn first-hand with prolific producer Ruben Cannon (Madea’s Family Reunion, Diary of a Mad Black Woman). And subsequently worked on such films such as What’s love got to Do with it, Desperado, Blank Check and Geronimo, among others. Cunningham joined the Situation Comedy department at the Walt Disney Company before becoming an independent producer. To stay familiar with gifted emerging talent, Cunningham attends play showcases and comedy clubs weekly and holds seminars for actors both in the local Los Angeles production community and worldwide.

Prior to entering the entertainment industry, Cunningham worked as a stockbroker in his hometown of New York City. At Shearson Lehman, in collaboration with the Senior First Vice President Cunningham Managed a $35 million account. This experience was later put to use when he was instrumental as a consultant in the $300 million purchase in 1998 of Live Entertainment which became Artisan Entertainment, a privately-held production company eventually purchased by Lionsgate in 2003.
