History

edit

HP’s chief executive officer, Leo Apotheker, announced in mid-May 2011 that the company was undertaking a “significant” technology services transformation. [4] As part of that effort, HP merged its Technology Services business unit with its Enterprise Servers, Storage and Networking (ESSN) business unit.[5] Both business units are part of the HP Enterprise Business group, which is one of HP’s primary operational divisions. Management of the Technology Services group was moved to David Donatelli, executive vice president and general manager of the ESSN business unit. Apotheker says the changes are part of HP’s plan to generate higher margins from its services.[6] According to reports, the move should help HP better coordinate sales of its services, hardware and software.[7]
