His work has been recognized in several titles such as Falling Awake The movie (2009), "El Vacilón: The movie (2004)", "Gabriel, Amor Inmortal (2008)". He is also the founder of Duende Films and Duende Media, both located in Universal City, California.

Agustín, has been the winner of several Emmy awards, among which are 2 as director, writer and producer, respectively, with several documentaries that dealt with the life and work of music stars such as John Leguizamo, Selena, Ricky Martin and Celia Cruz.

Biography

Agustín was born in the city of Havana, Cuba, his family emigrated to Spain when he was 8 years old. From that time, he lived constantly traveling between Madrid and New York, where he later began his artistic career participating in plays and television with small roles, among which Once Removed by Eduardo Machado stands out and in the film based on the novel from Elmore Leonard: Gold Coast directed by Peter Weller, starring with David Caruso (CSI Miami).

His working style and knowledge was influenced since his beginnings in theatre by characters such as Victor Argo, who was a mentor and a great friend who helped him grow in the theater until he passed away in 2004. He was also instructed in handling the camera by the actor Jeffrey DeMunn.

Agustín has been recognized as a writer in productions such as Agustín's El Vacilón, with collaborations by Wilmer Valderrama, Luis Guzmán, Elvis Crespo, among others and in which he received an Emmy Award as a writer.

As an Executive Producer, he received an Academy Award for "Best Short Documentary" for The Lady In Number 6, which deals with the story of Alice Hertz, the world's oldest pianist and holocaust survivor.

One of his most successful productions was the miniseries "Gabriel, Immortal Love" miniseries which won 6 awards among which he was an award-winning producer, writer and director.

The cast of the series was made up of Chayanne, with whom he forms a close friendship, José Luis Rodríguez (singer) and Angélica Celaya.

In 2014 Agustín had the opportunity to direct one of his idols in the cinematographic world, the great actor Martin Sheen, in the film "Badge of Honor".

He directed the movie "El Vacilon: The Movie", being the most successfull Spanish-speaking movie in 2005. He was the creator of Agustín's El Vacilón on Mega TV. Founded in 2015 by Agustín Fernández III and Dr. William Halford, Rational Vaccines Inc. is an American Biotechnology company located in Springfield, Illinois. The company has developed both therapeutic and preventive vaccines for herpes, along with improvements to proven methods for diagnosing herpes. Paul Bohm and Aziz Friendrich joined the company in 2015 as Chief Information Officer and Director of Research. Both vaccines are currently undergoing level I and level II human testing.
