Audio Secrecy[1] is the third studio album by the American hard rock band Stone Sour. It is currently being recorded at the Blackbird Studios in Nashville, Tennessee with producer Nick Raskulinecz. The album is set to be released in August of 2010 through Roadrunner records. Work began on the album after Slipknot, lead vocalist Corey Taylor's and lead guitarist Jim Root's project, had finished their All Hope Is Gone World Tour in 2009.

guitarist Josh Rand said "This could be the most diverse Stone Sour album yet!",[2] and lead vocalist Corey Taylor said "Audio Secrecy is the summation of everything we want, everything we crave and everything we fight for,”[1] Taylor also revealed that the styles expressed were going to be "metal, rock, slow, soft, hard, fast, bitter, beautiful and most importantly, it's REAL."

Corey Taylor talked to Rock Sound magazine about the future of Stone Sour. "We are already starting to put together demos for Stone Sour. Our new stuff sounds really melodic but really dark, it is way darker than the first two albums and way more cohesive. I don't know what it is, I'm still flushing shit out." [3]

Taylor and Jim Root's other main project, Slipknot, were finishing the All Hope Is Gone World Tour, after which Stone Sour regrouped to work on Audio Secrecy. Taylor has said that they would like to enter the studio by January to begin recording the 20 plus songs they have written.[4] Corey Taylor also commented “I cannot wait to make this Stone Sour album. Everything already feels a million times stronger than anything we've done in the past. Plus getting back together with Nick is going to mean monstrous things. This is the year for Stone Sour.”

Taylor told AOL's Noisecreep that Stone Sour's forthcoming CD will be "darker than Come What(ever) May, but a lot more melodic, a lot stronger, a lot more mature, and the lyrics that are coming out of me are really good. I'm really excited."[5] The band is recording the upcoming album at the Blackbird Studios in Nashville, Tennessee with producer Nick Raskulinecz, who was the producer for the band's second album Come What(ever) May.[6] The band has stated that they are aiming for an August 2010 release date through Roadrunner. [7]

Touring for the album will begin on August 17, at Minneapolis, Minnesota.
