A military historian, with a particular interest in the Jacobite wars in Scotland and Ireland (1689-1746), Ian has taken to writing historical novels and his autobiography, Burnt: Surviving Against all the Odds – Beaten, Burnt and Left for Dead.One Man’s Inspiring Story of His Survival After Losing His Legs.[1]

Ian survived a mind-numbing attack that resulted in the loss of his legs. Since his amputations and recovery, Ian has also been stunt trained through a specialist agency,Amputees In Action [2] his first film role, playing a sailor in the film Ocean of Fear.

He has been featured in numerous articles, has appeared on UK TV and is even a registered stuntman, having appeared in films.
