Ruck Ruiner was born into a musical world, being the younger cousin of “Jock the Human Beat-box” of the Legendary rap group “Skinny Boys” it’s safe to say hip-hop is naturally part of Rucks DNA. At an early age, Ruck took an exceptional liking to music and as early as the age of 11 he formed the short lived rap duo Infa-Red with a friend from Atlanta, Ga. After the dismantling of Infa-Red, Ruck linked up with a group of brothers from New York City collectively known as BLOODLINX. The brothers quickly acknowledging Rucks potential and passion inducted him into the group. Working with all the various personalities and styles of the group helped Ruck himself become a more diverse artist which might help explain his non-conformist style of music. During his time in the group Ruck Ruiner released a total of three mix tapes, one solo ep and one joint album with June Gully, whom Ruck cites as one his biggest influences in his early stages. After a four year run at it, all but two members of the group had called it quits. Ruck being one of the two, now is in pursuit of a solo career while simultaneously building his Brand “Zoo4Life”.
Although Ruck was born in the east he attributes the south and the west equally for his unique approach to hip-hop. Throughout his youth Ruck traveled back and forth from New Haven to Mississippi and other southern states. During those years he was exposed to a brand of hip-hop that was all but nonexistent back home and it’s been staple in his style of writing ever since. In an era where most artist consider themselves rock stars and focus on party themed music, Ruck Ruiner is souvenir from hip-hops past. His songs are rich in substance, packed with heart felt lyrics, positive messages and relevant hard hitting concepts delivered clearly for the listener’s enjoyment.
