eRacks Open Source Systems was founded in 1999. The company's purpose is to provide computer systems that utilize open source software, including various flavors of Linux, *BSD and OpenSolaris, and manufactures rackmount servers (including NAS systems, firewalls, mail and web servers), desktops, laptops and netbooks[2].
