The conspiracy went up the ranks all the way to President Reagan. It involved a watch John Smith had inherited from his grandpa. The grandpa had been a colonel in the military during WWII, and came in possession of a watch that had combinations inscribed on the back to lock box codes in Swiss banks containing repossesed riches obtained by the Third Reich. Through a mailing error, the watch ended up in the hands of a widowed seamstress...but I digress.
