Housing in these buildings is typically targeted at first year students as it comes with many aids for those who are unfamiliar with on-campus living. The benefits include a mandatory meal plan, wireless internet as well as a snack and TV lounge. In the dorm, a student will be sharing the dorm with a same-sex roommate in which both students will have their own furnished room which are connected to each other via a shared bathroom[1].
Similkameen
editSimilkameen place is located off of Discovery Ave and is semi-targeted and newer students. Similkameen can be more welcoming to those who value privacy as students are not required to have a roommate. The room a student is assigned is furnished and comes with the same benefits provided by the first-year targeted residencies. Although the room layout is standard, it does not include a bathroom as there are two single-gendered bathrooms shared for each floor[2].

editLower and Upper Cascades
editThe Lower and Upper Cascade housing are available throughout winter and summer sessions. Students who prefer a more homey feel to their residence should live here as you are given four fully furnished bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room and a balcony. Although a meal plan is not included, This residence can be much more affordable due to sharing it with four other students.[3]

Monashee has a convenience store on site and when choosing a dorm, you have the options of a studio, one bedroom, or four bedroom dormitory. The Monashee housing also has much more utility areas included in the rooms such as a kitchen, dinette, and a personal bathroom. The building is located to the right of Upper Residence Place.[4]

[9] Living on campus offers great amenities to students and the city of Kelowna offers great off campus activities. In the summer some of the biggest attractions to Kelowna is the vast amount of wineries throughout the Okanagan Valley. Another popular way to enjoy Kelowna in the summer is through all the great outdoors activities it has to offer, such as water activities, hiking, mountain biking and golfing[10].
