Cooljuno411's Visual Video Media Access Project [VVMAP] is dedicated to improving and expanding the use of video files and motion visuals on Wikipedia. The projects aims to promote and encourage the use of more multimedia files on wikipedia and expand the database of video media on the Wikimedia Commons. In addition, the project hopes to allow ease and simplicity in using the video files externally, off wikipedia, to further help the spread of knowledge.

The scope of the projects is to:
- Develop standards for easy deployment of visual media on and off of wikipedia.
- Improve the quality of articles by expanding the database of video media on the Wikimedia Commons.
What this Wikiproject is not edit
- Though this project hopes to promote the use of all forms of visual media, including still images, this project is designated for video files only.
Add Video to Project edit
This project is designed for users to upload their videos they made themselves to Wikimedia Commons as well as YouTube. The purpose of this dual-upload is to allow easy use of video visual media in other places, mainly for educational purposes. The projects main goal to expand the currently very limited selection of videos on Wikipedia and as well make in easy for users to use video for educational purposes off of Wikipedia. An example of a website that uses videos taken from YouTube for educational purposes can be seen Raver here, navigate through the pages and you will find ways to use of video multi-media for educational purposes.
Before you contribute a video to this project, you will need a YouTube account and, most likely, a program to convert video files to .ogg or .ogv, the only two video formats supported on wikipedia. All videos in this project are to be licensed as Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported [CC-BY-SA], this ensures open access to use the file, but insures the protection of the creators rights.
- First thing you will need to do is upload your desired video to YouTube, videos in this project are required to be uploaded to YouTube to promote easy access of the file, be sure to copy the url and exact name of the video you just uploaded to YouTube.
- After uploading your video to YouTube you will then need to upload the video to the WikiMedia Commons using the upload forum here, be sure to use the exact same name of file as you did on YouTube. In the summary box, replacing the existing text with the template bellow.
