Connie Tidwell Frady was born Angela Cornelia Tidwell on September 9, 1964 to Charles Tidwell and LaTrelle Russ Tidwell in Macon, Georgia. She grew up in Macon, Georgia, attending Macon Christian Academy from kindergarten until grade 7. She attended Ballard A Junior High which was a part of Southwest High School, then later attended Southwest High School from grade 10 to 11. Being a bit of a rebellious teen, she quit school before graduating 12th grade in 1982, but entered school again later that same year when school started again at Chapel Hill Christian Academy and graduated in 1983.

In July 1983, she met her husband, James Mark Frady, and they married on November 19, 1983. They have one daughter, three sons, and a young grandson who is her father's namesake. Her second son is also her father's namesake and was born six weeks after her father died.

Her father was Charles Tidwell, a professional stock car driver who was famous all over the Southeastern United States. Her mother is a retired beauty school teacher who was highly regarded in her field.

Today, Connie Tidwell Frady is a homemaker who cares for her mother, her husband of 25 years, and their two youngest sons. She spends her spare time crocheting, and reading. She is presently working on getting her father inducted to the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame in Dawsonville, Georgia in 2009.
