The modpodTM is an innovative application of aero military grade composite hybrid materials to the traditional problem of modular transportable accommodation, service and storage.[1]

Compared to traditional alternatives, the modpodTM is a solution that offers superior strength and durability but with the benefit of reduced weight, improved thermal and acoustic insulation, and pleasing livability and aesthetics not previously experienced in transportable structures. The experience of being in a modpodTM is more reminiscent of a fine yacht rather than a traditional building. The product was invented by the South Australian company called Modra Hayes. Modra Hayes works out of the South Australian regional town called Warooka.[2] In November 2009, Modra Hayes was awarded a Government Grant to develop a modpodTM Mass Production Facility in Warooka.[3] The modpodTM Mass Production Facility is designed to build large numbers of modpodTM for a variety of different relocatable building users.[4][5] The various users with a stated interest in modpodTM structures include, Emergency Accommodation for natural or man made disasters, Remote Hospitals and other remote medical facilities, Defence Applications, and Mining Applications among other uses.
