Remember that the FAC process promotes the best articles, even if they appear to be about trivial subjects, not the most important ones. Everybody on Wikipedia is a volunteer, so they will write about topics that interest them.

Track down information about and references that detail your topic. Use web, scholarly paper and book references; each type of references has its own advantages and disadvantages. Of course, for articles on popular culture, book and paper references may not exist. Read Wikipedia:Reliable sources
