Kapuka Tournament
editKapuka tournament is the annual schools and sport clubs tournament that usually takes place in June at Ponhofi senior Secondary School in Ohangwena Region, in northern Namibia. [1]The tournament usually consists of different sport codes such as soccer, netball, basketball,boxingand volleyball . Schools and sport clubs use to take part in the competion and Miss Kapuka beauty pageant is also part of the event, where learners from different schools use take part in. [2].
Winners of the tournament sports codes are awarded floating trophies,money and medals (gold, silver and bronze)[3]. Kapuka tournament is the biggest tournament that take place at the every year with about 1 000 viewers. The tournament is sponsored by Mr. Kapuka. The event use to take place at Namundjebo Sports Ground in Helao Nafindi constituency. Shondili Mshasho Boxing Academy won the best boxer academy in 2009 and Leopard won basketball for boys. [4]
