This is a second user account for me. The aim is privacy. My main account may allow me to be identified - usually a useful reminder to me that I am responsible for everything I say. However, I am aware of having avoided making edits that would have improved Wikipedia, but might have had real-world unpleasant consequences.
In addition to trying to be a good Wikipedian in general, I will normally not edit or comment on any of the same pages as my main account. If an admin needs to make sure that I am not abusing two accounts I will be happy to tell them - in some suitably private way - the name of my main account.
