I am Citlalli Garnica Ortiz. I was born in Toluca and I have always lived here. My father was born in Zitacuaro, Michoacan and my Mom in Mexico State. Even if my parents are not from the same city, they studied here so that’s why we stayed in Toluca. I studied international trade at the economics department which belongs to the State of Mexico Autonomous University (UAEM). I finished in 1999, and I presented my thesis in April 2000. I completed my masters in business management in December of 2007. My first job was actually “social service”, which is the kind of job every undergraduate student has to do before finishing the career. When you are studying, you are sent yo a private company or to a government office in order to work and learn. You may be paid or not. The government office or the private company has to be related to your major or career. This social service was at the Foreign Affairs Ministry office in Toluca. I really enjoyed that time. I learned many things about everything in order to process passports to Mexican citizens. I also learned about Toluca’s sister cities. My third job was at a French company established in Toluca. This company produces and distributes instant yeast. This was the best job as far as experience and working environment I’ve ever had. I was in charge of the logistics to six Caribbean countries. Since August 2003 I work for Tec de Monterrey. I teach "economics", "international panorama" and "entrepreneurship".

The economics course is mainly intended to give to the student theoretical and conceptual tools to understand economic, political, and social phenomena of the contemporary society.

The purpose of the international panorama course is to make students aware of political reality. Students have to understand the importance of being informed of economic, political, social and cultural events. They have to understand how the international system is conformed, know that they are part of it, and see the way all these facts affect their daily life.

In entrepreneuship, the students basically learn the tools and abilities needed to plan and operate a micro company. This is a great opportunity to realize whether the students have talent and skills in order to create and manage a business.
