Johnson graduated from The Quince Orchard High School. He started his career at the Arlington's Clark Street Playhouse in his early teens and later moved on to modeling. In 2006, he was a centerfold model in an Abercrombie & Fitch catalogue. The now talented actor was named one of the "Seventeen Hottest Guys in America" by the Seventeen magazine, along with the likes of R&B singer Chris Brown and singer-songwriter Teddy Geiger.
