Christopher Norris was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 6, 1991. He grew up on the south side of Chicago. He was raised by both of his parents Reuben and Wanda Norris. Chris was the only child that Reuben and Wanda had. As Chris grew up he learned a lot about life and was introduced to sports such as basketball, football and baseball. As Chris grew older he had a passion for all three of these sports. Furthermore he played recreation baseball during the summer as a kid and played on traveling AAU teams for basketball and football. Chris love for basketball and football grew throughout his time in school. He only played those two sports for his school team. As Chris got older in grammar school he hit a growth spurt. He went from 5'4 to 5'7. Chris then tried to focus on basketball even more because he thought he would grow to be taller. As for his love for football grew weaker he still loved to play but after suffering a right hand injury he decided football was no longer his passion. Chris was introduced to basketball by his mother and father. Both of his parents played collegiately so Chris wanted to strive for that goal as well. Chris would sometimes play his mother in basketball and she would teach him everything he knew and more, while his father would show him old videos of NBA players displaying there game. As Chris grew so did his game and by 8th grade he was 5'9. He happened to be one of the top 8th graders coming out of Grammar School. Then came high school which was very difficult for Chris at first. Once he got the hang of it he found what type of person he truly was. His mother wanted him to think outside of basketball so he obtained a job every summer working for the Chicago Park District. Chris never really got to display much of his basketball talent in high school because all of his teammates where good or better than him. Sometimes after school Chris would walk to his mother's college that she attend and that's when he became passionate about communications. One day as Chris was a senior he watched the NCAA tournament. It was interesting because Chris would usually be somewhere practicing on his game or looking for colleges to attend. He came across one particular game between Duke and UAPB. After watching the game Chris decided he was going to attend this school. Once he graduated high school he was accepted to the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Chris tried out for the team but once he was cut his main focus was to make sure he graduated from college which was the real goal his parents were looking forward to. [1]
