Hello. I was born on 23 July 1957 at Redruth, Cornwall, United Kingdom and I am a chartered engineer specialising in electrical and electronics engineering. I lived at Porthcurno until I was 14 and then moved to Penzance where I went to the former Humphry Davy Grammar School. I left Penzance when I was 19 and I worked in Dubai for 2 years and then reurned to the UK to continue my education, though sadly not to Cornwall. Cornwall is a beautiful place to live but with a local economy dominated by seasonal tourism, agriculture and fishing I did not find any opportunitites there. I was forced to settle in the south east of the UK to go to university and progress my career and I now live in Bromley near London.

I wish I had access to a resource like Wikipedia years earlier. Like many, I find it a bit addictive and I have spent hours looking such mundane things like pencil, shrub and window so I thought it time to make contributions in the areas I know something about. I admire Jimmy Wales and the aims and objectives of the Wikipedia Foundation and I wish them continued success in improving article quality in years to come.

My philosophy with Wikipedia articles is to concentrate one article at a time which I know something about and which clearly needs improvement.

So far I have substantially contributed to:
Porthcurno
Humphry Davy
Richard Trevithick
