Herr Seele pseudonym ofHeir Peter Seele (Torhout April 13 1959) is a Flemish artist, cartoonist, programmer, screenwriter, presenter, media personality, piano tuner, repairer and collector.

He is best known as the illustrator of the comic absurdCowboy Henk .

Biography

Heir of Soul went to school in Torhout the St. Joseph Institute. At sixteen he went to the Ghent Academy of Fine Arts: first the secondary art education, then one year sculpture. Then he learned piano tuning and repair in Wales, in Ystrad Mynach School, a two-year course. Then he followed one year training in Florence, Italy in restoration. In 1981 he started as Herr Seeleandwith Kamagurka the absurd comicCowboy Henk , initially for the newspaper Forward(nowThe Morning ). The gagreeks also ran in the weekly Humo. Together with Kamagurka each year from that time was a theater made in the spirit of the absurdity.

 
Herr Seele

From 1983 Herr Seele acting for television. The first program was calledBullshitAtmospheric and was written by Kamagurka. Then followed in 1985 a 20-part seriesKamagurka and Herr Seeleby the duo wrote for the Dutch broadcasting VPRO. Later followedWoodJohnny,'Lava,Be Glad With What You DoandBoband George. TheCowboy Henk comic magazines in several countries and was published by Scandinavia to the United States. Herr Seele also made solo programs for radio and television. In 2008 he finished seventh in 71 Degrees North in 2BE. Herr Seele's main occupation, however, remained painting.

He also submitted an early collection of historic pianos, which one of the most important in the world and about 200 instruments. The collection is located in Oostende.

Herr Seele committed regularly for Ostend action group "Dement Ostend. This opposes the demolition of traditional houses (mostly town houses), so that the view of the city changed drastically in recent years. Yet they seem hard to pass the building boom in the seaside resort a halt. Large building promoters often buy homes at the turn of them to the ground and make a construction project down legs. In many cases these homes are dilapidated, poorly maintained or condemned any event, it disappears with these houses, the urban vision that is so characteristic of Ostend.
