Childhood
editAllison Mack grew up in Glenview, Illinois a small suburb of Chicago. She has had notable achievements in all her athletic fields but mainly karate and field hockey. Allison has been playing sports since the age of 4, and once said, "I have been given all the opportunities in the world as a child to thrive and succeed and I never hesitated to seize any of them" (2011).
Karate Career
editAllison has been training in karate since the age of 4 inspired by her mother and uncle, other athletes in the sport. She has trained extensively with the Illinois Shotokan Karate Club, being coached by world-renowned athletes every day. Mack recieved her sho-dan (1st degree black belt) in 2006 at the age of 12. She then recieved her ni-dan (2nd degree black belt) in 2008, at 14 years old.
