Prof. Shanker Lal Kothari; born on 28th December 1954 in Chandras in the district of Bhilwara, Rajasthan, India is the Director of Amity Institute of Biotechnology in Amity University of Rajasthan. Formerly Dean Faculty of Science and Director of Centre for Converging Technologies (CCT), also the Professor and Head of Department of Botany and Director of the PG School of Life Sciences and Coordinator of the PG Course in Biotechnology Formerly he was the Coordinator of the UGC-UPE, DST-PURSE, DBT-IPLS Programmes in the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. He has a plethora of achievements that must be mentioned.
Born to Shree Sukh Lal Kothari and Smt. Tammu Devi. He is married to a MSC gold medalist Pramila Kothari and has two daughter's Dr. Aditi Kothari Chhajer and Dr. Priyanka Kothari, both being PHD's.
