Origin of "Ceart99"

99: Year alias was created (1999).
My original alias chosen during the regional BBS era (early eighties) was Nemesis. Honestly, at the time it was chosen because of its use on a cartoon called Robotix. As I grew older I credited its mythological meaning as the source of the name. As time progressed and the internet replaced BBSs, I found that Nemesis was a username that was rarely available. As a result I built an alarmingly large collection of usernames as I modified Nemesis or chose entirely new usernames for sites where Nemesis was already in use. By 1999 I decided things had gotten out of control and I needed to choose something that would be unique to myself. At the time I was heavily into researching my Celtic heritage. I decided to evolve Nemesis into something new, something that would also tie in that heritage. I could find no Celtic deity that fit the ideas of justice or vengeance whose name was one I wanted to use for myself, so I started looking for related words in the Celtic language. I found ceart, meaning correct/right/just, liked the sound of it, and decided that this would be my new alias. To add another layer of uniqueness, I decided to immediately add a few digits to the name. As the name was created in 1999, I decided to use 99.... thus was born Ceart99.
