Monumentum is a Norwegian stoner doom metal band formed in Fauske in late 2010. Current members include Ørjan Olsen on guitar and vocals, Dan Erling Storjord on bass and backup vocals and Sindre Nicolaisen on drums.

Biography

Originally Monumentum started out as a psychedelic classic rock band named Cycle with Natalie Storjord on vocals. Ørjan and Dan, the main writers of the band, got bored of the genre and began exploring a more heavy direction. This lead to the dissolvement of Cycle in the summer of 2010, and the creation of Monumentum in November 2010 under the name Roadburn, named after the famous Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, Netherlands. A festival focusing largely on stoner rock bands.

Late 2014 the band changed the name from Roadburn to Monumentum after one of their first songs.
