I'm an amateur elementary particle theorist, mostly educated in mathematics, but two years and an MS in physics from U. California, Irvine.

Contributions to physics:

(1) I rewrote the Koide_formula as an eigenvector equation and extended it to the neutrinos. [2] This formula is cited in the peer reviewed literature in the article Neutrino Mass and New Physics, R. N. Mohapatra and A. Y. Smirnov, Annual Review of Nuclear and Particle Science, Vol 56:569-628, (November 2006). [3] Also see: [4]

I came up with the formula while analyzing the elementary particles from the point of view of the primitive idempotent structure of Clifford algebras and a preon structure for the quarks and leptons. A slide presentation of the idea: [5]

Mainstream physics gives mass to the particles through a Higgs mechanism. My mass formula is analyzed from the mainstream point of view by Yoshio Koide himself at hep-ph/0605074. [6] For a slide presentation of this see Koide's talk at the Joint Particle Physics meeting in Hawaii, 2006: [7] or in Japanese [8].

(2) Mainstream elementary particle physics uses spinors to represent particles. I work in the density matrix / density operator formalism. I've been putting together a graduate student level textbook explaining the density operator formalism for the elementary particles. It is available on the web. [9]

Probably the best place on the web to discuss off Broadway physics theories is Physics Forums.[10]
