Veit Stratmann (Germany, 1960 — ) is a German contemporary artist, currently living in Paris .

The work of Veit Stratmann has been developed since the early 1990s, influenced by artists of the neo-avant -garde of the 1970s, like Michael Asher . One of the characteristics of many of his works is the focus on the intervention on the location and the deliberate choice of a form of lower-aesthetic value.

His creations are generally street furniture devices designed to offer the viewer a perspective on the location. One example are The Rings ( 1999 ), mobile clusters plastic seats, which offer the public a sitting position with many possible directions.
