Saginaw Valley State University is a state university located between the cities of Bay City, Midland and Saginaw in Michigan. Though the University is not within the limits of any of these cities, its official address places it in University Center, a place it shares with nearby Delta College. Founded in 1963, it is the youngest of Michigan's 15 state universities.

SVSU's Division II sports teams are called the Cardinals. They compete in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in all sports except bowling, in which the team is part of the United States Bowling Conference.

Campus

edit

The SVSU campus, extending from Bay Road to Davis Road and from Freeland Road to Pierce Road, is built on what was once farmland.[1] It was purchased in parcels from area farmers and developed over the years.

Buildings

edit

The first building completed on campus was the Project '66 Building.
