Chris Filson was born in Walnut Creek on March 18, 1979 to Steve Filson and Sandy Filson.
He spent his formative years in the San Ramon Valley, starting at the Valley Christian school from kindergarten until 3rd grade. Before the 4th grade began, he switched over to Montevideo Elementary School. From there he moved on Pine Valley Intermediate School, and then California High School (home of the Grizzlies). At California High School, he played for the junior varsity and the varsity golf teams all four years.
After high school, Chris attended the University of California, Berkeley and obtained a bachelor's degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. He was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity.
He is now attending the University of Michigan Medical School, with plans to pursue a career in Urology. His wife Brooke is a social worker working with children and adolescents.
