Mind the Gap is a board game played by answering trivia questions about different social generations.

History

edit

Jen and Chris Armstrong founded SolidRoots, a game company, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 2018. In the fall of 2019, they created the first prototypes of Mind the Gap, a game targeted for families. They began selling the game on June 22, 2020,[1] during the COVID-19 pandemic, which brought families closer together at home. Jen said the game came at a time when there was tension between generations, and Mind the Gap was intended to promote collaboration.[2]

In 2022, SolidRoots was acquired by Canadian toy company Spin Master but maintained its headquarters in Tulsa.[2]

Gameplay

edit

The game is intended for at least two players, and gameplay lasts 20–60 minutes.[1]

Reception

edit

Toys "R" Us Canada named Mind the Gap as one of its top toys of 2020.[3] Barnes & Noble selected the game as its first "Game of the Season" in 2021.[4]
