what is the blow of slurs well my friend, its that nice line of degrading claims of people when you disagree with them
for the conventional right that may be calling the opponent irresponsible socialistic kid
for the conventional left that may be calling the opponent a racist homophobic trans-phobic bigoted white national nazi.
often this dose not help anything and just leads to more vitriol. if you're gonna call someone that stuff, have conclusive evidence.
as of right now to my knowledge there is a left lean on this site but I could biased or have not seen enough
dropping a bowl of slurs dose not help with the whole it's the facts mission. nor the neutral view point. I know can never be perfect of course, nothing can, but we can be better about this. its not just the slurs though bias leaks into everything we are humans, we need to treat everything with scrutiny, that being uniform in nature.
and yes I am an advocate of sorts, i will assume good will and be respectful. as i lack much nuanced knowledge of the rules and editing skills, and I will not be a vandal/vigilantly. if I am braking the rules please let me know.
