Whisper Pictures
editWhisper Pictures is an independant film studio from Sherbrooke, Québec, formed in 2003.
The current main members are Rémi Fréchette (Director, Editor, Cameraman), Jérôme Cloutier (Actor, Writer, Composer), Hugo Mayrand (Actor, Writer, Composer), Dominique Rheault (Actor, Composer), Mabby (Special Make-Up Design and Artist), Alexandra Brousseau (Actor, Writer, Documentist) and Loïc F. Goulet (Actor, Caterer).
Their first film was Not Another Friday The 13th (2003), a short pastiche of the Friday The 13th (film series). Next followed the usual camera tests and short improvised home movies, until the gang grew tired of this and wanted to move to the next level. They would make a long film.
2004
Within the Woods
The gang loves Sam Raimi's Evil Dead series, and since remakes we're the big thing in 2004, they decided to remake Within The Woods, Evil Dead's precursor. They e-mailed Tom Sullivan, special make-up artist from the original Within The Woods, and he responded with tips and tricks for the make-up materials. The film was shot over the summer, and became a heated subject on an imdb.com message board. Sam Raimi's attorneys heard of this project and issued a warning to stop distribution on the web of this film. Not wanting to play with fire, all mention of this particular project was taken off Whisper Pictures' blog.
Philémon
Another 2004 creation was the character of Philémon, a bumbling paranormal detective who gets himself stuck with the weirdest cases.
