Bill Dvorak reviewed The White Balloon EP for The Deli Magazine and praised its "multi-layered vocal harmonies, guitar hooks and punchy piano...", deeming it to contain "some of this summer's catchiest songs...."[2] Time Out New York described the EP as "1960s-style shameless pop fused with latter-day production sensibilities," and Pop Syndicate praised it as "a beautiful melding of the old with the new to create something fun and exciting on The White Balloon…It’s bouncy, upbeat and pure fun… Any of these songs could make it into the top 40."[3]
