I am a Southern California native— specifically Orange County. I grew up during most of my childhood years in Riverside County, and the heart of Orange County is where I continue to call home. I lived a few years, in the late 2000's, in Phoenix, Arizona where I got a different taste of life. I've been using Wikipedia, steadily, since 2004, and just now (January, 2013) have I decided to create a profile and finally start contributing— which makes the heart of this online encyclopedia. I'm here to learn, research, contribute— and have fun.
My username edit
One of my favorite trees is the Blue Jacaranda— a South American tree commonly seen lining many streets in the suburbs of Southern California. They are known for their purplish-blue flowers that bloom leading up to the summer months, and their large-sized woody seed pods. I have collected many seed pods over the years and presently maintain several successful seedlings and young trees in my backyard. So I wanted a unique username and I chose this. I am not an expert of this tree— so you won't find me doing any edits on it's page. 
Some of my Interests edit
I have a wide array of areas that catch my interests— including those on the hobby front. I love nature, specifically the outdoors. I have kept a large amount of different species of tarantulas for over twenty-five years. I also am an aficionado of Disney voice-over artists; I've studied those to as far back to some of Walt Disney's earliest works. I also am a huge Knott's Berry Farm history buff. One set of my great-grandparents were great friends to the Knott family as far back to the 1920s when they were neighbors in East Anaheim. I once had worked at Knott's, and got to know some of the Knott family and upper-management. I have a lot of historical data that I hope to add to there as well. Other areas of interest include planted terrariums, autograph collecting (huge collection there), cartooning, gardening and a host of others that would simply be too much to list here.
My views on Editing on Wikipedia edit
This is pretty much the deal— I contribute what I can, where I can. Wikipedia is not my life, nor do I make it a habit to edit on a frequent basis. To be brutally honest I don't care for edit/revert wars and arrogant editors & admins— especially those who are cavalier with their wordings as such in edit summaries. I despise aesthetically-edited content; it's painfully obvious when you see it— done to self-please the editor's own tastes.
