Sydney Nash is the pen name or Nom de plume of Sarah Sydney Nash who legally changed her name in 1986 from Deborah ( Thompson ). Born June 10, 1965 in Los Angeles, California to her biological mother, presumed to be one Elizabeth Bell; she was adopted by Thomas C. & Florence G. Thompson through Catholic Family Services some eight weeks later. Her biological mother had named her Christine Marie Nash, giving the child her biological father's sur-name. Sarah's adoptive parents re-named her.

The name "Sydney" was a nic-name used in College, with regards to a former boyfriend who called Sarah "Sidhe Vicious". Sidhe was pronounced incorrectly as it should have been a soft "sh", and thus it continues to be a sort of inside joke. It was the intention to call her a "cruel fairy". The only thing Sarah knew for certain about her biological heritage was that she was of Irish ancestry from both parents, hence the reference to the mythological race of beings from Ireland.

Sarah began writing on the Internet at Xanga in 2001. Later, she became a columnist for Saucy Vox as "The Irreverent Reverend". She co-founded "The Hiss Quarterly" (www.hissquarterly.com) in 2003 and remains as the Production Editor and writes as "The Blue Collar Goddess".

She is a web designer and a communications specialist, currently residing in the United States, California. Comments and Questions can be directed to nashlee(the 'at' sign)gmail (dot) com.
