Preparations: Students will have to be able to focus, and establish a mind set to be analytical readers.
Presentation/ Resources:
- Wiki article and corresponding packet with questions regarding the content of the article
- Premade groups to ensure a successful group atmosphere
- One old book per student and 5 colored highlighters
Intro Activity: Students will get together in groups to review the Wiki Article on The Parts of Speech. Filling out the corresponding to the article, by the end of activity students should be able to recognize and use nouns, pronouns, adverbs,adjectives,and verbs.
Activity:
- Unit One: Refresher powerpoint on nouns; using green marker highlight nouns in their book
- Unit Two: Refresher powerpoint on pronouns; using orange marker highlight nouns in their book
- Unit Three: Refresher powerpoint on verbs; using blue marker highlight nouns in their book
- Unit Four: Refresher powerpoint on adjectives; using yellow marker highlight nouns in their book
- Unit Five: Refresher powerpoint on adverbs ; using pink marker highlight nouns in their book
