Runtu edit
It is stuated 75 km west of Rundu, just between Rundu and Nkurenkuru.In relation to "vantu" which means people,"Runtu" is another Rukavango word that mean a huge group of beings,but some untrue article evidence states the word comes from rundu which comes from the word "ndundu" which means mounains which is not the case.The village came in existance around 1965,before independence.it's now being called "Rupara".It used to be said that it is an island,but it is now a place that have numerous number of both human and animal inhabitat. people settle near and along the kavango river while animals live far away from the human inhabitat due the exccesive noise that tend to scare them and drive them away.Even so there are still animal habitat that live near the river and some even in the river its self,animals like hipos,crocodiles and "hendis" kwangali name for a small animal that lives in the reeds. most people who occupy this area are kwangali people,but after independence tribes like chockwe came,nyembas moved in due to the civil war that took place in angola during the 1990's. Traditionally make their living from fishing, cattle, and the farming of sorghum, millet and maize.

people living in this area are part of the kavango tribe in the kahenge constituencies,Traditional law is still in use in this area.they live just along the river were they get most of they food source,like fish and other fresh water animals and birds.Inland they hunt for animals and birds,gather fruits during spring season.
