Chann Sankaran, is a convicted match fixer from Singapore. [1]

Chann was involved in the 2013 English match fixing scandal. He was charged with conspiracy to defraud along with another associate, Krishna Sanjey Ganeshan [2] and were sentenced to 5 years imprisonment.[3] Roughly about 2 months from his release, in March 2016, Chann allegedly tried to fix games in South Africa.[4]

Chann and his other associates were identified to be in attempt of match-fixing after former Zimbabwe Football Association's Chief Executive Officer, Henrietta Rushwaya [5] exposed photos, recordings and screenshots from Whatsapp Messages. Henrietta Rushwaya also exposed the connections between Chann and the infamous Wilson Raj Perumal another convicted match-fixer. Chann is accused to be associates with Wilson Raj Perumal, which Wilson denies although there a video recordings of Chann confessing that he takes orders from Wilson and Wilson is the mastermind of his actions. [6]

Chann's whereabouts are currently unknown and he is on the run from several authorities. Despite so, he has been able to continue match-fixing in the shadows with another associate who is only known as Siva.

Their strategy is that for Chann to fix matches while Siva searches for investors in Singapore. Responses from INTERPOL, Match Fixing Task Force indicate that match-fixers often promise high winnings but the match-fixers would abscond with the money in several scenarios such as showing the victim that the bets are placed on a phished website.
