I'm very new to editing Wikipedia; I'd been a reader for many, many years (amassing over 7000 saved articles) but it wasn't until relatively recently that I joined up and made my first edit after finding a typo that finally spurred me to action. As someone who reads a lot of online content, I find typos all the time - even in digital publications the likes of CNN, WaPo, NYT, etc. - but my attempts to bring them to anyone's attention mostly failed. So seeing a typo/grammatical error in a Wikipedia article and actually having the power to correct it, right then and there, is a catharsis I can't begin to describe. I would like to be more active in proofreading on Wikipedia - so far my edits have been limited to just those typos/grammatical errors I've found while already reading an article of interest. Now that I've discovered there's a community of Wikipedians dedicated to proofreading/corrections, I am looking forward to availing myself of those resources in the hopes of making a larger impact on the overall health of Wikipedia.
