Rebecca Allison, M.D., F.A.C.C., F.A.C.P., is a cardiologist practicing in Phoenix, Arizona. Becky graduated from Greenwood, Mississippi High School and the University of Mississippi before receiving her M.D. degree from the University of Mississippi in 1971. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and its subspecialty of Cardiovascular Disease.
Since 1996, Becky has maintained the Web site "drbecky.com", a support and information site for transgender persons. The site includes Becky's personal story of her 1993-1994 transition; information on finding a therapist and a surgeon; an extensive collection of essays on the relationship of transsexualism to spirituality, particularly progressive Christianity; and a blog detailing current events.
Becky is a member of the Board of Directors of the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association, and a member of the AMA Liaison Committee on GLBT Affairs.
