Coffee happens to be the most widely known beverage to all age groups that helps you ‘stay awake’ and ‘powers you up’. Coffee has a rich source of antioxidants. It has been also proven that coffee can increase heart disease. Studies do not have a positive distinct relationship between coffee and mortality. However, it has been linked to diabetes, stroke, and some injuries and accidents. There were several surveys given to men and women of all ages that drink coffee that may have cancer, heart disease, diabetes, have strokes, etc. There were also a recording of lifestyle and dietary factors of people who drink coffee. Coffee drinkers that drank coffee regularly were also more likely to also smoke cigarettes and consume more than 3 alcoholic drinks per day and consumed more red meat. It was also proven that people that consume a lot of coffee tend to not exercise regularly, and have a lower level of education. There is no significant association between women who drink coffee and cancer rates.

There has also been an association between alcohol and cigarette smokers and spontaneous abortions, but not with coffee. There was a random sample of 56,000 women who were interviewed who has had an abortion in the last two years. There has been a reduction rate in birth weight that accompanies maternal smoking while pregnant. The overall rate of abortions is 21.6% towards people who consumed coffee, alcohol, and cigarettes.
