Professor Mohammad Haq Nawaz,(Urdu: محمد حق نواز) a distinguished Pakistani-American physician was born on March 14, 1946, in Mastung, Quetta, Pakistan.

Following in the footsteps of his father, Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim (a Radiologist[1] and Health Secretary for Baluchistan), Professor Nawaz embarked on a remarkable academic journey. He earned multiple degrees from various countries, showcasing his dedication to acquiring a well-rounded medical education.[2]

Professor Nawaz not only holds an impressive array of qualifications but also has been the fellow as well as the head of many a well known institutes. He has done the following:

MD, FCPS Pk (Fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan),

FCPS BD (Fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Bangladesh),

FRCP Edin (Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh),

FRCPSG (Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow),

FRCP London (Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London),

FACP (Fellow of the American College of Physicians),

FCCP (Fellow of the Chest College), and

PCPS Pk (Pakistan College of Physicians and Surgeons).

Professor Nawaz resides in Dallas, Texas, with his wife, Dr. Gulnar Haq Nawaz (married on January 5, 1971). He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Mohammad Ibrahim and Begum Shahnaz Ibrahim.In Dallas he lived with his wife, Dr. Gulnar Haq Nawaz. Professor Nawaz was a devoted family man. He is also survived by his children Mahrosh Nawaz, Esq., Dr. Mehreen Nawaz, and Dr. Zaim Nawaz.This biographical sketch paints a picture of a remarkable individual who has tirelessly dedicated his life to improving healthcare and medical education on a global scale.[14][15]

In 2002, Professor Nawaz relocated to Dallas, Texas, United States. This career move allowed him to pursue further opportunities in the medical field and contribute to advancements in healthcare and medical education on a broader scale.[2]

Professor Mohammad Haq Nawaz passed away on May 25, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. Following his passing, Dr. Gulnar Haq Nawaz established the Professor Haq Nawaz Foundation in 2024 in his honor. The foundation aims to support and inspire future generations of medical students, a testament to Professor Nawaz's lifelong commitment to education and advancement in the field. The foundation has already announced scholarships exceeding $100,000 USD for 100 aspiring USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) candidates. Professor Nawaz's life and career serve as an inspiration for his unwavering dedication to patient care, medical education, and global collaboration in healthcare.[16][11][10]
