I have been affiliated with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at the University of Arizona for more than 30 years. More than 20 of those years were spent as Director of the Arid Lands Information Center (ALIC) at the Office of Arid Lands Studies (OALS) where I developed and gained funding for local, national and international projects to publish and disseminate information about the arid regions of the world. The ALIC team was an early adopter of Web technologies and this has been most fully realized in the ongoing Global Rangelands initiative. I also held the position of Managing Director of the International Arid Lands Consortium (IALC) for more than five years. I am particularly interested in the open dissemination of information, data, and educational resources to facilitate life-long learning, improved decision-making, and the advancement of innovation to solve society’s grand challenges. I have a B.A. in history, a Masters in Library Science, and a PhD in Higher Education Administration.
